Orio al Serio Airport is the third Milan stopover airport, after Malpensa and Linate. It's commonly known as Bergamo Orio al Serio because the airport stands in the district of Bergam. However it's very well-connected to Milan county town and for this, it can also be called Milan Orio al Serio Airport. Its official name is Caravaggio Airport and it's basically dedicated to low-cost flights: this peculiarity makes the airport the first destination in Italy and one among the first 10 in the whole world. Even though the airport is just 50 km far by car from Milan city centre by car through the A4 Highway (Venice direction), it's possible to take other quick, cheap and comfortable transports that easily connect it to the metropolitan city.
Orio al Serio - Milan connection
It doesn't exist a railway station that provides a direct connection between the Bergamo stopover and Milan, so several bus lines assure every day regular routes that allow passengers to reach the airport since the first morning flights, in the same way as for getting to Milan city centre even landing with the last flight of the day. In particular, Airport Bus Express provides regular routes from Orio al Serio to Milan, from 07:15 until 00:15; vice versa from Milano Centrale Railway Station departures start at 02:00 until 23:00. Normally, 3 departures per hour are assured in both directions. Travel time from/to Orio al Serio Airport and Milan is approximately 1 hour and it's possible to book tickets online with seat guarantee benefits or directly buy them on board.
Orio al Serio - Brescia connection
The same Airport Bus Express provides connections between Orio al Serio Airport and Brescia with departures from 05:10 until 23:00. Vice versa, from Brescia to the airport buses the first route is at 04:10 and the last one at 19:15. Shopping tourists can also ask to make an on-demand stop at Franciacorta Outlet buying online their tickets online before the departure flight.
